There’s nothing like that first real ride of spring—it just hits different. The crisp morning air, the scent of thawing earth, and the sound of snowmelt trickling down the hills. The way the golden sun slices through the lingering mist, reminding you that winter’s grip is finally loosening. This is what we’ve been waiting for all season. And man, it's been a long one...
Shaking Off the Cold
Winter riding has its own kind of rush but by the time March rolls around, I’m more than ready for a change. The days start stretching longer, the mud gets thicker, and the trails that have been quiet all winter finally start coming back to life.
Last weekend, I loaded up, ran through my gear, and hit the road. That first spring ride is always a wild card—one stretch of trail still buried in snow, the next a sloppy mess of mud. But, that's all just part of the fun I'll never get tired of.

A Trail to Learn
Riding through the changing seasons always reminds me of Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven."
Winter can feel endless, just like life’s tough seasons. But no matter how deep the freeze, spring always comes.
Lately, I’ve been stuck in my own waiting season—wondering when things will shift, when will things get a little easier. But riding through the changing trails reminds me: the wait has a purpose and His timing is perfect. We might not see what’s ahead, but we trust the road is leading somewhere good. So, I just kept my foot on the throttle and let things flow. I think they call that faith.
Sunny Days Ahead
By midday of the ride, the sun was shining, my machine was covered in mud, and I was exactly where I wanted to be—out in God’s country, letting the trail lead the way. My lower doors like these kept my legs free from caked-on mud, while my skid plate found here protects my machine when I underestimate a deep rut. And let me tell you, I’ve had my fair share of those—both on the trails and in life.
The first ride of a new season isn’t just about breaking in the trails; it’s about shaking off winter’s weight, inside and out. Life can feel heavy, but when we step back, invite God in, and embrace the fresh air outdoors, we allow ourselves a much needed reset.
So if you’ve been waiting for a sign to get back out there—this is it. Spring is here, and the adventure is just beginning. Be safe, and we'll see you on the trails!
