The rooster had barely crowed when I stepped outside this morning. The air had that sharp chill that only shows up once summer starts to slip away. The fields were still heavy with dew, and I could see my breath in the glow of the barn light. Thatβs the thing about life on the farm, you feel the change of seasons in your bones before you ever see it on the calendar. Β
I had fence lines to check and cattle to look in on before the day got going. Walking the pasture on foot in the damp grass isnβt much fun when the cold sets in, so my little Coleman UTV has become my go-to. It saves me time, keeps me out of the mud, and lets me haul whatever tools I need in one trip.Β
I climbed into my UTV, thankful for the 3 Star WeatherFlex enclosure. With the back panel zipped tight, I stayed warm as I drove down to the lower pasture. On mornings like this, the cold cuts quick, but by afternoon the sun will be high, and Iβll roll the panel open to let the breeze through. Itβs a simple thing, but it makes the work a whole lot easier and more enjoyable.Β
As I checked the fence line, I thought about how farming has always been about faith. Faith that the seeds you plant in spring will push through the soil. Faith that rain will come when the fields are thirsty. Faith that the harvest will be enough to carry your family through the winter. Some days that faith feels as steady as the sunrise. Other days, itβs more like holding on tight through a storm.Β
Thatβs why I lean on good tools to help shoulder the load. Out here, a dependable UTV with the right gear gives me a measure of steadiness in the middle of all the unknowns. A skid plate shields the machine when I cross rocky ground, and a strong 3 Star UTV windshield keeps me protected from dust and debris. These things make the work easier, but they also remind me that no matter how prepared I am, thereβs only so much I can control.Β
And thatβs where faith comes back in. Out here, itβs plain to see how small we are and how big God is. Each season reminds me of His provision, His timing, and His faithfulness.Β
By the time I headed back up toward the house, the sun had burned through the morning chill. I opened up the WeatherFlex for airflow and just listened...the hum of the engine, the rustle of the corn thatβs starting to dry out and turn golden, and the quiet assurance that, come what may, weβll have what we need. Because the land provides, and the Lord provides. Always has, always will.Β
βAs long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.β β Genesis 8:22Β
