We’ve Got Horsepower: Kentucky Roots – The Derby and the Trails of Kentucky

The Kentucky Derby rolls around every May, and with it comes the big hats, cold drinks, and two minutes of pure adrenaline that folks around here wait all year for. Since 1875, people from all over have gathered at Churchill Downs to see who’s got the fastest horse and the steadiest hands. It’s a proud tradition, one packed with style, spirit, and a whole lot of horsepower.

But horses aren’t the only thing Kentucky’s known for. This place is full of rolling hills, thick woods, and trails that twist and wind through some of the prettiest land you’ll ever lay eyes on. It’s where people learn early to respect the land, enjoy the ride, and maybe even get a little mud on the tires. Whether it’s a saddle or a steering wheel—around here, we all understand the value of a good ride.

At 3 Star UTV, we’re proud to call this place home. Kentucky’s not just where we work, it’s part of who we are. And whether you’re out riding horses through open pasture or wheeling your sxs through the backwoods, it all comes down to horsepower and how you make the most of the ride.

Churchill Downs might shine for one weekend, but the trails around here? They’re something special all year long. From Red River Gorge to Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky is packed with views that’ll stop you in your tracks and trails that make you want to keep going just to see what’s around the next bend.

There’s something about riding out into the quiet that clears your mind. Crisp air, wildflowers on the edge of the trail, and the hum of your machine cutting through the stillness. It just feels like peace. Like the kind of peace only God can give. “He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.” Some folks find that in a pew. Others find it deep in the woods, with mud on their boots and dirt on the dash.

That connection to the land is what drives us. It’s why we build every enclosure, windshield, and part with purpose, so you can ride in comfort no matter the season. Spring, summer, or middle of winter, if you’re still out there chasing the next trail, we’ll make sure you’re ready for it.

So here’s to Kentucky—built on roots, tradition, and a whole lot of heart. Whether you ride with boots in the stirrups or tires on the trail, do it proud. And don’t forget to take in the view while you're here because it’s one heck of a ride.
