The skid plate was easy to
Install and fits great. Going to do some rock climbing and test it out!
Like it very well. Very easy to install
First of all these things are built light a tank and should last forever. I do however have a couple of nitpicks. I went by the video on YouTube. The video never mentions that the holes for the middle skid plate should be on the passenger side. So let's just say I did the installation and realized I had it upside down after I was all done! Please put a sticker so people don't make the same mistakes I know it's in the instructions but a simple sticker that says top or bottom would be very appreciated. My second nitpick is the skid plate comes with 30 mm flange bolts. These are way too short! They should be 35 mm I had to go by 35 mm because they were too short. I also recommend that the center holes use a 40 mm flange bolt to make your life easy. Do not put on the front skid plate first it is going to be too long and needs to be shortened by at least a quarter inch but I think it was a lot more. I used a grinder and just went until it fit. It would be nice if this front part came the right length! So in conclusion put the center skid plate on first. Get 35 mm flange bolts and disregard the 30 mm that come with the skid plate. Buy one extra 40 mm flange bolt because the kit comes with two already that you don't use on the newer z950. Install the two front bolts. Install the center rear bolt first and then the two other ones. Then install the other Center ones. Then tighten all the other bolts. If you do this your life will be much easier than mine was trust me. In conclusion this is a great skid plate for a very good price but the hardware that they send needs to change and the front skid plate needs to be shortened from them so the installation will be easy. The rear skid plate went on like nothing and that also has to have the hole in the correct place. I got lucky and didn't have to turn it over.
I had 2 holes that didn’t line up with the holes in the skid plate, and had to use an 1.5” self tapping screw to secure one of them, and a linger screw with just washers, as the rubber spacer moved out of position and I couldn't reach it to us a self-tapper at that location. I’d recommend that all supplied bolts be at minimum 1 1/2 inches in length at minimum.
Heavy duty built....installation wasn't too bad....overall it's well worth the money....and worthy of 5 stars.
